Political Achievements
One of the biggest political accomplishments for women in the 20th century was achieving the right to vote. This fight, begun by suffrage pioneers Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton (Guernsey), was brought to conclusion in 1920 with the ratification of the 19th Amendment. Alice Paul, leading the NWP, and Carrie Chapman Catt, leading the NAWSA, and countless others helped bring about this success. Without their determination, women would not have the same political rights they do today.
